"MBA Math was the corner- stone of my independent preparations for a number of
reasons. For me, I found it to be the best way to become familiar with
unfamiliar terminology early on, the best introduction to the process of
solving problems in Excel, and perhaps most importantly, a painless and
efficient way to learn the essentials.

Would your teaching be more effective if your students had stronger
quantitative skills?
The admissions office admits students based on their leadership potential.
While desirable strategically, this poses a tactical challenge to first year
core course professors teaching a heterogeneous group. Students with prior
experience in a subject naturally want their horizons expanded. Just as
naturally,
students with no prior experience want support
in building their MBA toolkit. The MBA Math course allows weaker
students to build a solid quantitative foundation on their own, freeing you to
teach more advanced topics.
The MBA Math online course is a basic quantitative skills course that is
MBA-focused, time-efficient, and convenient
. I developed the course based on eight years of teaching a one-week
pre-orientation math camp and ten years of teaching a decision science
elective, both at Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College.
What schools are using MBA
Math?
Apart from these school-initiated efforts, individual students from over 100
MBA programs register for the MBA Math course on their own.
How can your teaching benefit from MBA Math?
-
Advocate for MBA Math
to be used by incoming first years before arriving on campus
-
Make enrolled students aware
of MBA Math as an "online TA" for those who need more help with quantitative
skills than your core courses are designed to provide
