"MBA Math was the cornerstone of my independent preparations for a number of reasons. For me, I found it to be the best way to become familiar with unfamiliar terminology early on, the best introduction to the process of solving problems in Excel, and perhaps most importantly, a painless and efficient way to learn the essentials.

It was definitely a lot more effective than the books I bought over the summer but never quite got around to reading, and the reason is that MBA Math is structured in a way that makes it easy and effective to learn independently."

MBA Math News

Would you like your students to arrive on campus better prepared?

The MBA Math online course can help your students help themselves get ready for the MBA first year.

Since 2000, I have worked with the MBA Program Office at Tuck School of Business to deliver a one-week, 35-hour math camp to approximately 70 incoming first years the week before orientation. It's an intense, great week every year, as professionals turn back into students, friendships begin, and bright young people from all over the world engage with the mathematics of business.

Yet, while the live math camp course provides just enough support for many students, some students are unable to absorb the entire week's material. Each year some students still struggle mightily with business math and spreadsheet mechanics during the first year. And first-year core professors report that the low-end students slow the pace of instruction.

What can we do to help bright but, relative to classmates, quant-challenged students realize the high leadership potential that got them admitted?

Several years ago I began developing the online MBA Math course. The idea was that an online course would allow proactive students to engage with the material at their convenience and in an individualized way before coming to campus. They can skip material they know, listen multiple times to lectures about topics that stump them, and work through an unlimited number of exercises of each type.
